A Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a lively Scottish social gathering featuring traditional music, dancing, and fun for all ages. With easy-to-learn group dances and energetic live music, a Ceilidh is all about community, celebration, and joining in—no dance experience needed!

While the majority of the fair events end at 5:00pm with Mass Bands and the closing ceremony, the party is just getting started in the McCracken Pub! Join us there for more live music, dancing, a pint or two, and great company. See you there!

All ticket sales are final and non‑refundable. The festival will proceed rain or shine.

Tickets are available online and at the gate.

The MSF&HG will take place in all but severe weather. Join us, rain or shine!

Weather Policy: In the event of severe weather all participants are expected to follow the rules and directives of Macalester College Public Safety regarding closures, evacuations, and all other weather-related changes. Failure to do so is at your own risk and neither the Minnesota Scottish Fair & Highland Games nor Macalester College will be held accountable.

We are unable to sell plastic bottled water at the fair. The fair will provide a hydration station – please bring a refillable bottle and stay hydrated! In addition to reducing waste, the effort also keeps water local to its source.

The MSF&HG will have souvenier reusable water bottles for sale at the ticket booths and in the Pub.

Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome at the outdoor exhibits of the fair but they are unfortunately not allowed in the Macalester Stadium/Track where the Cultural Stage, Highland Dance Competition, Parade of Clans, and Massed Bands take place.

A 21+ wristband is required to purchase and consume alcohol at the fair. Wristbands will be available for purchase for $2 at the McCracken Pub. Alcohol must stay within the Pub tent fenced in area.

Macalester College and the fairgrounds are a tobacco-free environment.

Macalester is very accessible by public transportation on the A line or Route 63. Bike racks are also available. Free lot parking and street parking surrounding the campus is available. Please refer to the event map for parking lot locations.

Attendees of the MSF&HG consent to the use of their photographs in MSF&HG promotional materials, printed or electronic, without compensation, written release or further notice.

Please feel free to bring folding chairs and umbrellas for rain and shade.
